Risk Assessment
(EP)
Risks:
Getting lost from the group
If we get lost from the group it could be problematic as we could lose valuable time while filming, if this happens we are going to do these things:
-We each have each others numbers saved into our phones, this way we can communicate easily if any of us get lost, since we are filming in a forest there is a high chance of getting lost.
-We also have a meeting point where we can all go to, this gives us a place to meet if we do get lost.
-The chance of getting lost is low due to us always being around each other, there isn't a time where we split up.
Falling down hill
As the route we are taking to film are film is wet and and steep there is a possibility that one of us will fall up or down during the day, if this happens it could lead to a serious injury. To combat this we will:
-All have walking shoes or other sensible foot wear, this will make it easier for use to walk up sloping paths.
-We will stay as a group as if we fall help will be very nearby and you can even use others as support.
-We all have mobile phones so if someone gets seriously injured then we can all can emergency service for assistance.
Upsetting the locals
There are a lot of locals using the nearby forest, so we don't want to disrupt people's spare time and hobbies by us filming, there are a couples of ways we can do this:
-We can minimal loud noise, when we are filming parts which include a loud shout of scream then we will make sure there is no one nearby as it could give them a shock.
-If there are nearby walkers then we will let them walk past before starting to film again.
Road safety
We have to cross a road before we get to the path which we follow to get our chosen location of filming, it is a busy road so there are some precautions we need to take:
-Normal road safety tips, look left and right before crossing
-Be with the rest of the group in case something does happen
To also add on other points, we need to make sure that we take care when using recording equipment given from the school, checking that the tripod is stiff and not going to fall over causing a cracked camera is a good start. If we are using props that could cause physical damage to the actor we have to take special precautions to make sure that the risk of harm is at a minimal. But we are not using any props that could cause physical health so we should be fine with this. If there are people nearby we need to tell them we are filming a horror movie, this is so they are aware and don't get worried if they hear screaming or see any kinds of fake blood on the floor. We are of course using areas that is open to the public.
