In this section of the website is our audience research in which we analysing among other things, what audience is most accessible through each genre by taking in to account age,gender and general interests. On this part of the website we also what genres are most popular among other movies shown through media streaming websites and website who specialise in media analysing.(W.T)
LoveFilmLoveFilm is a website that allows you to rent and watch a range of different films and TV shows. However it also allows you to see what films are being rented out. We researched into the horror genre to see the most popular films at the present time, in order for us to market our own product. This helped us come up with the idea for our OTS.

MetacriticMetacritic allows you to see the ratings of the top horror films. The site gives each film a rating due to the feedback from its audience. This is useful as it allows us to find out the sub-genre of the most popular horror films, enabling us to design our idea around what our audience is in to at the time.

IMDBIMDB is another website we used to help research our specific audience. It uses a rating system to see what films are being rated 5 stars. This is helpful for when we are choosing our sub-genre of horror because it allows us to see what is most popular at the moment.

Google TrendsThis website allows you to look at specific trends within the interests of a certain word. It produces a line graph over a number of years to show the increase and decrease in popularity over the word you have typed. This is useful to us as we can see what is trending at the moment, so we can potentially design a horror based on that theme.

AmazonThis website allows you to purchase items from a wide range of departments. However, we will use it to see the top selling horror films at the moment. This will help us when deciding what sub-genre of horror we should chose to create. It also will help when looking for our target audience.

BBFCThe British Board of Film Classification gives every film a certificate due to its content. This is important as we must get the right certificate rating in order for us to reach our target audience. It has specific guidance rules for each certificate to make sure that the film is suitable for the age it is being shown to.

Box Office GuruBox Office Guru is another website that rates the top films and horror films at the moment. It gives information on how much money a film has earned and how long it has been in the cinema. This is going to help us decided the type of sub-genre we should use and what is popular at the moment.

Audience Research QuestionnaireWe created a questionnaire in order to determine who our specific audience would be and what type of horror they would be interested in. This information could help us determine which sub-genre of horror we should make. We then made several pie charts to display our findings. This was a useful way for us to find out who our audience could be and who would be interested in our OTS.

Audience InterviewsIn order for us to find who our specific target audience was we interviewed fellow students to find out their opinion of horror films. This helped us to decided on what style of opening title sequence to make and what sub-genre to use. It also helped us find what age group we could aim our OTS at, in order for us to get a specific audience profile.
