Distribution Company research
This is our second attempt at a distribution company, we decided to change it as we felt that 'White Dwarf Studios' was not worldwide and it did not give the impression of a well known company. It shows a satellite drifting across Australia with the company name 'Regional Distributions', we chose this name because it gave a sense of an international company.(NL)
Columbia pictures is a well known distribution company that are responsible for many films that are available today. Their sequence is effective as it has a very recognisable soundtrack that lets the audience know that they are well known in the world of media. The subject of the video is positioned on the top of some steps in and amongst the clouds. This is a clear representation of her power and the power of the distribution company. They are most well known for distributing films such as 'Fright Night' (1985) and 'Ghostbusters' (1984) (NL)
Lionsgate Films have co-produced many horror films such as the 'Saw' franchise (2004-10) with 'Twisted Pictures'. It is effective as the soundtrack involved builds suspense like a good horror would. Its colours of red also make it memorable as it completely counteracts its usual logo (see below). The colour red has connotions of blood and hell which fits the theme of horror perfectly. Also it can be seen that the normal logo is somewhat heavenly in apperance whereas the other is implied of being hell. (NL)
20th Century Fox which was established in 1935 is one of the biggest distributors in North America. They have distributed several horror films such as 'The Fly' (1958) and 'Paranormal Activity' (2007). It is one of the most recognisable distributors around, when people hear the soundtrack they instantly know where it's from. The style of the music and the video is grand and royal signifying that the film is well made due to this distributor backing it. (NL)
