Horror Research
In this section of the website we analysed a look at a variety of other horror opening title sequence and looked at every aspect to find out what exactly made them work, we then tried to replicate this in a new and fresh way in ours. we also took a look at horror theorist like Wes Craven and Wheeler Dixon to find out what clichés we should stick to and what ones we should change or leave out to make our opening sequence original but still including the aspects which the horror fans enjoy most.(W.T)

Real OTS AnalysisIn this section we analyse existing opening title sequences from a wide range of horror films. We focus on the key aspects of a good horror such as: storyline, lighting, editing and the use of camera shots within the sequence. Check out what we enjoyed about each OTS by following the link to the page bellow!

The Making Of...As well as creating our own OTS, we were also given the task of making our own Production and Distribution Companies to go with the film. This was also followed by research videos into how to make a horror sequence. Therefore we conducted research on: how to make fake blood, how to use Chroma Key, our first attempt at filming a horror and our preliminary task. All of these videos are able for you to view when following the link bellow!

Analysis Of Titles Within The OTSAs we are creating an opening title sequence, the titles are a very important element of the final product. So we decided to research further into the use of titles in horror, such as order and font choice. Although some horror films don't have any titles, or very few, we are planning on having the usual amount in order to fulfil the assignment brief.

Sound Analysis Within OTSSound is also a key feature of a good opening title sequence. Wether it be continuous eerie music or a loud bang at the climax of the scene, the right sound could make or break a sequence. This is why we researched into different uses of sound in some recent horror films. Our results can be found in the link bellow!

Horror TheoristsIt is important for us to understand some of the key conventions in horror. This research into different horror theorists enabled us to understand some of the most generic and iconic conventions found in horror. Each theory presents a different idea used in some of the most popular horror films of all time! We studied theorists such as: Wes Craven, Carol Clover, Wheeler Winston Dixon and Stuart Kaminsky.
